Tuesday June 18 afternoon   Dear Speaker Car E Heastie.                     We are extremely disappointed and distracted that the resolution to abandon the SHSAT has been passed by the assembly Education Committee in support of Mayor De Blasio’s divisive at educational reform.                                            By Supporting the resolution, the Education Committee has join Mayor De Blasio in calling for the elimination of the admissions test for entrance to several excellent high schools in New York City . We find this plan to be racially arrogant and regressive. In face, it is a quota system, pitting one minority against another.                   In one fell swoop, the Committee is agreeing that black and brown Latino Committees cannot make it on their own. Education must be dumbed down in order for them to succeed.                                       To the Asian Community, also a community of color, their achievements are being denigrate and the plan would put in place a local Chinese Exclusion Act, the notorious Act that isolated the community are restricted them into low wage work situations and stopped them from bringing their families to the U.S.Indeed, many of students to be excluded are from economically deprived families, children or grandchildren of immigrant background.             In summary, the plan spreads hopelessness and failure, not diversity. The use of racial quotas by the Department Of Education teachers children to be victims, that they cannot achieve the heights on an individual basis. Inflaming racial hostility while dumbing down the school is a recipe for social chaos.                     Therefore, we feel that the Bill should not be brought to the full Assembly and urge you to place it on the dustbin.                                  Justin Yu Democratic District Leader65th AD,D
